BAYLEYS REMUERA

Bayleys, had outgrown its Remuera offices and sought to establish a new, people-centric environment to support its highest-performing staff. The brief was to create a workplace that supports a range of activities to elevate the client experience including weekly property auctions, client and community events, training & collaboration, all within a timeless aesthetic.

 We redefined the conventional real estate workplace model by combining the warmth of residential and hospitality design with commercial functionality, expressed through a series of deliberate spatial gestures. From its open, collaborative, and adaptive layout to the choice of timeless materials, biophilic design and locally resonant art, the interior has been designed to be as emotionally engaging as it is functional.

Ornate detailing and craftsmanship are reimagined with quiet elegance—expressed through a fluted limestone reception counter, vertical panelling, herringbone timber and stone flooring—subtly referencing the historic architecture within Remuera. Client-facing areas are layered with rich timber tones, reeded glass, timber framed sliding doors and refined furnishings, creating a timeless & welcoming atmosphere. Upstairs in the workplace, the palette shifts lighter, continuing the resimercial tone. New Zealand artwork grounds the space and connects to local identity and community.
